:: Testreport from Ron Koldeweid

AP 149

Yesterday I was able to ride the AP149 for the first time. Wind was between 7 and 12 knots in the beginning. I pumped up my 19 m2 Fuel (which is actually 21.5 m2), launched it and walked into the water. I was sceptical
about the wind. The wind was at start almost that light that I was afraid the Fuel would fall out of the sky.. So I moved myself quickly into deeper water away from the land.

I slipped in the footstraps and started to accelerate. The water was almost completely flat and just a little ripples of the light wind. I thought: "hmm this board accelerates fast... there is almost no wind?! Once you get into plane you will just keep on planing. This board loves to be riden switch-stand and the wonderful thing is it carves as a wakeboard without ever loosing control (must be the flex) in turns and if you make a mistake, you will not dive into the deep immediately. Going upwind is unbelievable easy. It goes where you want it to go. Everything is easy about this board and in the 3 hours riding yesterday I improved my skills again. This board is the perfect board to learn all kind of (air) tricks. It's a real 'funboard'.

Cruising upwind full speed in 1 or 2 tracks, then go downwind learning tricks is what this board loves to do. You don't need a constant kite-pull which makes it a extremely relaxed board. Later the wind picked up to 10 -
18 knots. I left the water when the sun went down.

It's like this board is programmed to do what you have in your mind to do. It's like it is saying to you: "come on, do that trick, I will help you!" I think, this board will be perfect too for wave riding in medium wind because of the flex and the capability of it to keep planing without much kite-pull.

CONCLUSION AP 149

This is the perfect board for someone who wants to be on the water when others are walking upwind or waiting for more wind. Due to this board I was able to be double as much time on the water and learn tricks in light to moderate winds. The board feels small and keeps on planing. Buy this board if you need a board for light wind.
